Il y a un peu plus de 2 mois maintenant, le samedi 15 septembre, un tragique accident de VTT a emporté un de nos plus fervents passionnés, Thierry CHENEVIER.
Cela a été un terrible choc pour nous tous, à VTT Passion mais aussi dans le monde du cyclisme Calédonien.
Thierry était simplement un mec en or. Toujours souriant, toujours de bonne humeur, toujours prêt à donner un coup de main, à mettre à disposition son véhicule pour remonter les vélos et les cyclistes lors des DH ou des enduros, ou ses fourgons pour la Mégarando, dont sa société était un partenaire indéfectible depuis la première heure.
Fier de porter son maillot jaune ou son t-shirt orange de bénévole à chaque occasion, Thierry répondait toujours présent comme concurrent ou comme bénévole. La DH et l’enduro étaient sa passion, et lors de la dernière Mégarando il a été notre serre-file sur le parcours du 60 kms, pour assurer la sécurité des compétiteurs.

Samedi dernier, pour lui rendre hommage, nous étions nombreux à nous retrouver à Nouville, un lieu qu’il affectionnait pour la pratique de l’enduro et de la DH.

Sous une pluie battante, nous avons planté 7 arbres de forêt sèche en souvenir de Thierry: 2 arthroclianthus sp Pa?ta , 2 pittosporum pancheri, 2 olea paniculata et 1 ch?ne gris

Les arbres ont été plantés en bas des canons du fort Téréka, sur la partie gauche de la route, entre deux pistes VTT. Depuis ce site la vue est complétement dégagée sur la baie de la Dumbéa, et sur le lagon, avec la passe de Dumbéa au sud-ouest et la passe de Uitoé au nord-ouest un jour de grand beau.
